Today, ABC will air the last episode of All My Children. Yes, it is a cheesy ridiculous soap opera, but I am so sad about it. I can't remember when I started watching it, but I think I've known who Susan Lucci is my entire life. My Mom has watched the show forever. When I was younger (back before DVRs!), you couldn't call my grandmother between 1-3pm because she was watching her stories. She would answer the phone and only talk to you if it was a commercial break. This would absolutely break her heart.
I have to admit. It makes me really sad to think that Quinn will never watch all the drama in Pine Valley (she would have been a 4th generation fan!). I know it is just a show, but it has always been around. The good old reliable choice when stuck at home on a weekday. Not only did my family watch it, but I have many friends who are loyal viewers as well. Many of us have shared emails, texts, and lunch dates dishing on the ABC soaps (shout out to Laura).
So today, it all ends. I am so curious to see how they wrap a show up after 40 years. 40 years! A fond farewell to the wonderful town of Pine Valley. I will truly miss it and all of the crazy drama that unfolded on my tv over the years.
